The Yoga tradition asks us to practice containment around the use of, and the sharing of, sacred mantras. Ideally, we should learn these mantras in person from a teacher and then practice them with whole-hearted abhyasa (steady practice over a long period of time with devotion) before we even begin to think of sharing them or "putting them out there" (by teaching them in our classes, talking about them on face book, performing them on You-Tube, etc.!!) By holding them close we nurture and protect their essence - which is, mysteriously and in fact, nurturing and protecting our own sacred essence. Dispersing them lightly and without understanding or true practice, is said to weaken both the mantras themselves as well as our ability to receive the transmission of Shakti inherent in the mantras. Practice containment. Use the mantras for your own practice and deepening. Protect yourself, your practice and the abundance of grace that can flow to you through Mantra practice by holding these mantras with a protective, loving containment, like a egg in your nest.
